Cubs Nike RBI Softball League Baseball/Softball/Tball
Nike Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is Major League Baseball’s (MLB) youth outreach program designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among youth, encourage academic participation and achievement, increase the number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and minor leagues and teach the value of teamwork.
As part of MLB, Cubs Charities manages Cubs Nike RBI which includes summer and fall baseball and softball leagues, skills clinics and Cubs Nike RBI All-Stars, a nine-month player development program for select athletes. Since 2001, more than 9,000 players have participated in Cubs Nike RBI, free of charge.
Cubs Nike RBI baseball and softball leagues play during the summer and fall and consist of approximately 40 teams open to players from across Chicago. Teams across both leagues play 10-12 games during each season and are coached by community league instructors and local high-school coaches.
Cubs Charities manages the schedule, secures fields, and commissions umpires & field coordinators.
